How to Fix “Error Code: 268 You Have Been Kicked Due to Unexpected Client Behavior” on Roblox Windows
Like any other online game, Roblox does not allow players to manipulate a Roblox experience using cheat software. Upon detection of a hack, it expels the user from the client and displays the error code: 268 and a message stating “You have been expelled due to unexpected client behavior”.
However, players who play fair can also encounter this error, especially if Windows Defender or their antivirus interferes with Roblox. So, if you encounter this error, here are some fixes you should try to prevent it from happening again.
Is your Roblox account banned?
In some cases, users who have encountered error code: 268 on Roblox have had their accounts banned. If this is the first time you have encountered this error, you should check your account status. To do this, log in to Roblox on a browser or desktop application or try running Roblox experiments from your cell phone.
If you log in successfully, your account has not been banned. However, if you see a message after logging in that your Roblox account has been banned or deleted, and you are sure you have not violated the game’s terms and conditions, you can appeal for the removal of the ban on the Roblox website.
Fill out the Roblox Contact Us form with your contact information. Under What device are you experiencing the problem, choose PC. Then under Help Category Type, select Moderation and Appeal Account. Don’t forget to add more details under Problem Description. Once you’ve filled in all the details, click Submit.
In the meantime, you should play other games until Roblox support responds. However, you should check the fixes below if your account has not been banned.
1- Close any cheat software you are using
If you are hacking Roblox using a cheat software and encounter this error, you should close it. You won’t see this error anymore when you stop using a cheat software.
Sometimes, even after closing the cheat software, its processes continue to run in the background. To make sure that this is not the case, open Task Manager, look for all the shady processes associated with these cheat software and close them.
2- Eliminate Internet and IP problems
Problems with your Internet connection and IP address can also cause the error in question. If your Internet connection is not solid and becomes very unstable in the middle of the game, you may be kicked out of the Roblox client.

Similarly, Roblox may also ban your IP address if you violate their terms and conditions, which could eventually result in the “you were kicked out due to unexpected client behavior” error.
Here’s how you can rule out and resolve these issues:
Make sure your device is connected to the Internet.
If your Internet connection remains mostly unstable and you encounter the error code: 268, switch to another connection and see if that solves the problem.
Clear the DNS cache and change your DNS server. This will clear the IP addresses and old DNS records from your cache, which often helps resolve most connectivity issues.
3- Change the way you manage experiments on Roblox
On Windows, you can play Roblox experiments in two ways. The first method is to download the Roblox app from the Microsoft Store, and the second is to download the Roblox launcher from the website and run experiments directly from your browser.
Although both methods give you access to the same library of experiments, and the Roblox Player app and Roblox Player launcher have nearly identical interfaces, they each have their advantages and disadvantages.
For example, playing Roblox experiments through the Microsoft Store application is more stable. However, the Roblox Player app is subject to interference from Windows Defender and other third-party security software. On the other hand, running experiments directly from the browser is more convenient, but browser extensions and other browser-based processes can complicate things.
If you encounter error code: 268 when playing games through one of these clients, try the other. But if changing the way you run games makes no difference, move on to the next fix.
4- Don’t let your security software interfere with Roblox
Windows Defender and other third-party antivirus applications can also interfere with Roblox Player (the Microsoft Store application) and Roblox Launcher (the client used to launch experiments from the web). This interference may cause you to be expelled from Roblox. So you should check if this is the case.
5- Delete temporary files
